Thom Yorke may never actually make you a personal mixtape, but Radiohead have shared their frontman’s pre-show playlist from last year’s UK/European arena tour. It’s even better walk-on/hype music than LeBron James himself!
After starting off with the band’s own proper deep cut — “Seattle Ambient Recordings (Minidisks)” — tThe 34-track playlist spans everything from Leonard Cohen and Moondog to Billy Woods, Aphex Twin, David Byrne, Danny Brown, and even a little something from the Gaelic Psalm Singers. If you fancy yourself a truly eclectic listener, this one should certainly test your musical knowledge as well as tickle your inner music geek. Stream the full mix and peep the full tracklist below.
Despite some minor setbacks (i.e., postponed dates due to Yorke’s own “extreme throat infection”), the UK/European tour was one for the ages. Jorge Fernandez said that the November 7th show at Madrid’s Movistar Arena was less of a concert and more of a “planetary alignment.” Meanwhile, Nicole Alvarez called the opening night of Radiohead’s four-night residency at The O2 a “masterclass in restraint from a band that still has something to say.”
