Tata Motors has sold over 71,000 passenger cars in January 2026. Of these, 822 unit sales are from the international markets, while the remaining 70,222 unit sales are from the Indian market. Amongst these, the Tata Nexon nameplate (including both ICE and EV versions) has secured its highest-ever sales of over 23,000 units.

January 2026 sales are 47 percent more than the December 2025 numbers
Tata Motors’ January 2026 passenger vehicle sales are 47.1 percent more than the 48,316 units it sold in December 2025. Amongst the total of 71,066 units, 70,222 units (ICE and EV combined) were sold in India, while the remaining 822 unit sales were from the overseas market. Talking about EVs, Tata Motors managed to sell a total of 9,052 units globally, which is over 72 percent more than its December 2026 EV sales of the manufacturer.
Nexon, Punch clocked their highest ever monthly sales
The Tata Nexon and Punch nameplates have secured their highest-ever sales as well. The Tata Punch, with over 19,000 unit sales in January 2026, has crossed 7 lakh cumulative sales, which, as per Tata Motors, is the fastest for the industry.
Tata also sold over 23,000 units of the Nexon in January 2026, with which the SUV crossed the 10 lakh cumulative sales milestone. Not just this, but the Tiago hatchback has also crossed 7 lakh cumulative sales units.
According to the manufacturer, new launches, including the Sierra, petrol versions of Harrier and Safari, as well as the facelifted Punch, are seeing a lot of customer interest. Tata Motors has also progressively ramped up Sierra’s production to meet customer demands.
