This 1955 Porsche 356 Speedster is powered by a replacement 1.6-liter SC flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle and is finished in ivory over black leather. Equipment includes a black canvas soft top, 15″ steel wheels, body-color bumpers, and fixed-back bucket seats. The car was purchased by the current owner in 2021 and was previously listed on BaT in August 2025. Work has since involved replacing the fender badge and hubcaps as well as repairing the seat bases. This Speedster is now offered on dealer consignment by the selling dealer, a Local Partner, with a spare engine, manufacturer’s literature, a Reutter Certificate of Production, a tool kit, black California license plates, side curtains, and a clean California title.
The body is finished in ivory and features a removable black canvas soft top, removable side curtains, mesh headlight grilles, a single decklid grille, driving lights, and body-color bumpers. A Reutter fender badge was installed since the last auction.

The 15″ ventilated steel wheels wear baby moon hubcaps and are mounted with Michelin XWX tires. The car was factory equipped with drum brakes at each corner.

The fixed-back bucket seats are upholstered in black leather, and interior appointments include charcoal square-weave carpets, a passenger-side grab handle, a Deutsche Sportwagen Meisterschaften dash badge, and a body-color painted dashboard. The seat bases were repaired since the last auction.

The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and an oil temperature gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 551 miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership. The seller states the mileage is not accurate, and total mileage is unknown.

The replacement 1.6-liter flat-four was sourced from a 1964 356SC and installed some time ago. Compression test results are viewable in the gallery.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.

The Karosserie Reutter Certificate of Production shows delivery to Porsche on February 12, 1955, and lists factory paint and upholstery colors. Paint and upholstery samples are available on a separate document in the gallery.

A spare flat-four engine accompanies the vehicle, and stamping 34589 is shown in the gallery.
